Check out the Ben Daniels galleryBen Daniels, or Finn Bevan in BBC One’s Cutting It, certainly sets one or two pulses racing. What's more he's an out and proud actor (in fact he's never been 'in') and we love him for his upfront and honest attitude to his sexuality. So, it’s time for a long overdue Totty Watch on a star who certainly likes to keep busy!NameBen Daniels
Famous ForBen studied at London`s Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. He spent much of his early career treading the boards, before landing a small role as the gay love interest in
The Lost Language of Cranes in 1992.
He’s put in appearances in
Fanny and Elvis,
Madeline,
Soldier Soldier and A
Touch Of Frost. He also cropped up in the much-loved gay flick
Beautiful Thing as the dippy boyfriend of Linda Henry.
More recently he starred in hard-hitting drama
Real Men, and can currently be seen playing the devilish love cheat Finn in
Cutting It. Ben won an Olivier Award in 2001 for his role on
All My Sons for the National Theatre.
VitalsBen was born on 10 June 1964. He lives in South London.
Worth KnowingBen was the only male member of the
Cutting It cast to get invited to Amanda Holden’s sexy underwear for girlie parties.
"I was invited to their
Sex And The City nights. It was more like a pyjama party. I went along in jeans and the girls sometimes wore very little at all. The things I heard weren`t for the faint-hearted."
Ben’s played one or two strange characters in his time. In an art-house movie called
Passion in the Desert, he played Augustin Robert who was strangely drawn to romping around naked after a leopard (see below). In
Aristocrats, Ben starred as Lord Kildare who had a shoe fetish and fathered at least 19 children!
Ben gets his fair share of attention from female fans, despite being an on-screen love rat.
“I didn`t pick up hateful vibes, they took it in a light, humorous way. I even had women giving me their phone numbers, one even chased me round a supermarket!”
Ben likes to keep his feet on the ground and fails to see the lure of Hollywood
“I landed two Hollywood movie roles, one alongside Mel Gibson in
The Patriot and the other with Chris O’Donnell in
Vertical Limit. The money was good, but it wasn’t for me.”
AvailabilityThere’s little news on whether Ben is single or not. However, it’s worth a go and if you ask us - he’s a marked man!
